City Hero is an open-world superhero action game where you run around the city, swinging on ropes between buildings and fighting hordes of enemies along the way. Set in Vice Town, it feels like a bustling city with many rooftops, alleys, and places to dash through, rather than just fighting in a fixed area.
I found City Hero doesn't just show you fighting monsters and then it's over. The game opens up a city with its own rhythm, with high-rise rooftops, streets, narrow alleys, and hidden areas to explore. The main task for the player is to choose their own path, complete missions, fight gangs, and, when they get used to it, try more challenging sections like the Zombie Arena.
What makes this game special is the fact that progress is not static. The more you play, the more different types of combat you see, from regular fights to long zombie hordes, then robot bosses. It creates a feeling of gradually expanding gameplay instead of just repeating one type of combat.
The gameplay of City Hero is quite straightforward. You roam the city, climbing rooftops for a better vantage point, or using a grappling hook to get around quickly between buildings. Once on the ground, you'll encounter combat situations with enemies and gangs.
There’s also a Zombie Arena mode where you have to survive multiple waves of increasingly difficult attacks. The longer you stay alive in this section, the more prizes you will be entitled to. There are also weapons like blasters and melee weapons, so the gameplay isn't monotonous; you can use both ranged and close-range combat.

City Hero has fast-paced gameplay, emphasizing agile movement and quick combat, so it feels quite satisfying to play if you like urban superhero games.
